Blackpool has had a decent season thus far and would want to improve further. They have already beaten Liverpool once this season 2-1 and will want to repeat the same performance this time at home. They have hit a bad patch in form and have lost two consecutive EPL games.This will be Kenny Danglish’s first game as manager in the EPL at his second run as manager at Anfield. He will be having a lot of pressure on him as of now and would have to lift the spirit as well as the morale of the squad. This seems to be a tough task in front of him. Meanwhile Blackpool will be hoping to recover from a 1-2 loss in the Lancashire derby to Blackburn last week. Charlie Adam's own goal had given Blackburn the lead in the 20th minute before Matthew Phillips leveled things in the 85th minute. A late goal from Brett Emerton helped Blackburn beat Blackpool and collect all three points. Manager Ian Holloway will be hoping to exploit Liverpool's shaky start and come away with at least one point from Anfield this week.
