The Rossoneri were beaten 1-0 by their Serie A title rivals prior to the brief Christmas break, but bounced back with a 1-0 win over Cagliari earlier this week.
And that victory allowed them to extend their lead at the top of the Italian top-flight to five points, with fellow contenders Lazio being held by Genoa.
And Allegri said: “This victory means a lot. We have taken three important points especially after our defeat against Roma before the Christmas break.
Milan will be hoping that Cassano’s arrival will provide them with fresh impetus as they look to consolidate their position at the top of the Serie A table. The Rossoneri are currently three points clear at the top but have struggled for consistency in their recent games.
Udinese on the other hand will be hoping to snap out of an inconsistent run that has seen them lose three and win three of their last six games. The Zebrette are currently ninth in the league table though coach Francesco Guidolin will be aware that a couple of defeats could pull Udinese back into the relegation dogfight.
