In their last game the Broncos lost to the Washington Redskins 27-17 while the Chargers had a solid win in beating the Philadelphia Eagles 31-23.
In their loss to the Broncos the reasons they lost is that they committed 2 turnovers and they could not stop the run. Also, after Orton went out with an ankle injury backup QB Chris Simms could not do anything. After scoring 14 points in the 1st quarter the Broncos only scored 3 points for the rest of the game. The Broncos did not play good 3rd down D to say the least, as the Redskins were 8/16 on 3rd down conversions. The Broncos also allowed the Redskins to dominate in terms of time of possession (35:43 to 24:17). The Broncos were favored by 3 points so they did not cover and the total of 36.5 was surpassed.

The Eagles had many more passing yards, but they were down early and had to go to the air in order to come back, which they could not do. The Chargers' D stuffed the run and they forced Donovan McNabb into 56 pass attempts. The Chargers also played a very mistake-free game, as they were only penalized 3 times for 31 yards and they did not commit any turnovers. The Chargers were favored by 1 point and the posted total of 47 was surpassed.
Players to Watch: Chargers' LB Shaun Phillips is one sack shy of surpassing his career-high (11.5). ... QB Philip Rivers leads the league with 62 completions of 20 or more yards. ... Chargers' Head Coach Norv Turner is going for his 99th career victory. ... Broncos' RB Correll Buckhalter totaled 92 yards from scrimmage in last week's win over Houston, including touchdowns rushing and receiving. ... Tebow's five rushing touchdowns this season are the second-most in the league by a quarterback this season. Philadelphia's Michael Vick has eight. ... CB Champ Bailey has had four of his 48 career interceptions against the Chargers.
Tim Tebow only managed one touchdown on 308 yards, but the defense managed to keep Arian Foster in check. Foster managed to play a whole game without a mysterious injury, and Matt Schaub saw another strong performance go to waste, tossing 310 yards on 23 completions.
The Broncos don’t do a lot well, ranking 25th in opponent passing, and 31st in opponent rushing, but Tebow has looked capable in Kyle Orton’s absence. While they would love to put one more nail in San Diego’s coffin, the Chargers should be able to rally the troops enough to end on a high note by beating lowly Denver.
The Broncos will try to even their record at 2-2 under interim coach Eric Studesville, who got his first win a week ago in three games since replacing the fired Josh McDaniels. Another loss would give the Broncos 12 on the season, which would be the most by any team in the franchise's 51-year history. It also would lock up the second overall draft pick for the Broncos next April.
The first-round pick was 16 of 29 for 308 yards with one touchdown and an interception, and he ran six yards for the winning TD with 3:02 to play. Tebow provides the Broncos with much more mobility than Orton, having run for 27 yards last week after gaining 78 in his first career start against Oakland.
